During the Hawaiian music craze, composer and publisher Charles S. DeLano had Weissenborn make Kona guitars for him to sell through his school. They ranged from very plain (style 1) to highly figured (style 4). The Kona Style 3 model was built from 1923 – 1927.
This is a vintage 1924 Kona Style 3 Hawaiian Guitar. Solid Hawaiian Koa top, back, and side. Rope binding on top, back, rosette, and fingerboard. There are marks on the top and back and a portion of the fingerboard binding has come off. There is a split in the top and the bridge is also pulling up from the top. Sold as-is with no case.
